BACK TO SCHOOL!

I spent most of August getting ready for school.  We painted the room, added new bookshelves, and did some over all organizing. The boys were begging for weeks to start school but I needed to order curriculum and then get supplies!  We finally settled on a start date of September 3, 2013.  Cam will be in Kindergarten.  He did complete a kindergarten curriculum last year but his birthday falls after the cut off so he is technically a kindergarten student this year.  I want him to continue to be with kids his age.  Colt will be in fifth grade this year!  It is going to be a fun year!

First day of school!

Yep, it is that time of year! Normally we would have started in early August but due to the move we decided to wait. So today, the first day of September was our first day of school. Now, I know it seems very strange to say we started school on a Saturday but when your husband works crazy days and shifts you just adjust your school days! We will be taking days off next week when he is off work, and the boys were begging to start! Colt is going into the Fourth grade!! Where has the time gone? He is so excited about this years curriculum. We are studying the time frame from Creation to the Greeks. He has already read several books from the curriculum! Over the last month he has really started to enjoy reading more, i am excited about this and hope I can continue to encourage a love of reading. It is going to be a fun year! Camaron is starting school too! He would technically be in PreK this year since he misses the cut off by 21 days. But he is so excited and ready to learn that we are going to go ahead and start our kindergarten curriculum. If needed we will just take two years to complete it. He is so proud to say he is in school and loves that he has his own area of school books and school stuff. I did not homeschool Colt for kinder or first grade so this is all new to me! I am looking forward to seeing him learn!
