Cameron's Birthday party
We had Cameron's birthday party a week late because of Troyes work schedule and it is a good thing we did since he was so sick!! Grammy and Grumpy bought him a John Deere Gator to ride! He LOVED it!! He was so excited for his party day to arrive!! Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate! It rained cats and dogs!! We had a few party goers have to cancel but some still came on! Cam was happy to see his friends and play that he didn't care about the rain! We even let he kiddos go exploring in the rain and mud! They thought it was great! It was a great day dispute he rain!!
Cameron's Birthday!
Camaron is FIVE!! On his birthday we decided to take him to the zoo. He was so excited!! Unfortunately 10 minutes before arriving at he zoo he started throwing up!! Poor guy! We tried to go in, hoping it was just a fluke but he just kept getting worse and finally asked us to leave! He threw up all the way home and continued to do so for 3 days. It was so sad to see him sick on his birthday!! He did get to open his presents before he started throwing up! He loved his John Deere hat, boots and his cowboy belt!
Fun with family
This week Grammy and Grumpy brought their rv down and also brought cousin Tyler!! The boys had fun playing with Ty!! We played at the house, the creek, went on boat rides and even went to the Trinity community fair!! Great time!!!

A little update....
Well I tried to post pictures and for some reason it didn't work!! I will have to try again!! But in he meantime I will write a little about what we are doing. School is going great! We have finished our fourth week and are really enjoying it! Our history this year begins at creation and we will move forward thru time. Colt is so excited to learn about Egypt! We have just finished up with Noah and the flood and have just started discussing he first settlements around Egypt! The boys put on a play last week, maybe I can get it on here!
In land news, we continue to work on our "to do" list. More work has been done on the barn and we have the green house and garden areas picked out. We have put out several deer feeders and some game cameras. We love to ride he 4 wheeler and look for tracks. Troye is teaching how to find deer tracks and to learn their sleeping and eating patterns. Fun stuff.
We went to the first 4H meeting. It was very different from last years but also very informative. They do have shooting sports here but they don't focus solely on hat, and in fact don't start shooting until January. So we made the decision to let colt raise rabbits for his 4h project is year!! It will be a learning experience for all of us!
That about sums it up, look for more this week as we celebrate Cam's birthday!

First day of school!
Yep, it is that time of year! Normally we would have started in early August but due to the move we decided to wait. So today, the first day of September was our first day of school. Now, I know it seems very strange to say we started school on a Saturday but when your husband works crazy days and shifts you just adjust your school days! We will be taking days off next week when he is off work, and the boys were begging to start! Colt is going into the Fourth grade!! Where has the time gone? He is so excited about this years curriculum. We are studying the time frame from Creation to the Greeks. He has already read several books from the curriculum! Over the last month he has really started to enjoy reading more, i am excited about this and hope I can continue to encourage a love of reading. It is going to be a fun year! Camaron is starting school too! He would technically be in PreK this year since he misses the cut off by 21 days. But he is so excited and ready to learn that we are going to go ahead and start our kindergarten curriculum. If needed we will just take two years to complete it. He is so proud to say he is in school and loves that he has his own area of school books and school stuff. I did not homeschool Colt for kinder or first grade so this is all new to me! I am looking forward to seeing him learn!
Update!!! Finally!
Wow! I don't even know where to start! It has been almost a month since I posted last! We finally got our internet hooked up this past week! Yea! It only took them 6 weeks, but what can you do... nothing. It is working great and we are enjoying having it. We are continuing to settle in to the new house and land. It has been a crazy few weeks but we love the new place. We have started to see more and more deer and the boys are loving that. We have set up several feeders on the property to feed the deer. We have made a little progress on the barn but not near as much as Troye had hoped. We will just continue to work on it and it will eventually get done! We have had several friends come out to the house. It is great to visit with friends and let the kids play! The boys love the land but I know they miss their friends. We have not made it to church yet... the one day we were headed to a new chuch the truck had brake issues and we couldn't make it. The boys were really sad. I continue to pray that we will find the right church home and that the boys will make great friends. We have been back to Montgomery a couple of times but mainly for doctor appointments and errands. We did get our storage completely cleaned out. So glad about that! Now we just have to continue finding places for everything. We also got the boys bunkbed assembled and they love being back in it. Troye's Dad just moved in with us this weekend so he is trying to get settled as well. Even though we have been busy working we have also had lots of fun! We have had army wars, complete with camo paint and water balloons. We sent the boys on a scavenger hunt to look for a secret treasure. And we have been teaching the boys how to build a fort in the woods. I hope I can update more frequently now that we have internet. Yea!
