Pinterest Intervention?

Yes it is possible that I need someone to intervene!  I am obsessed with Pinterest and making stuff!  Now to be fair, I have always loved doing crafts but that desire has dramatically increased since I joined Pinterest!  I am not one to just pin anything, if I pin a project I have every intention on completing it!  I am driving Troye crazy using up all of the scrap wood!  My fabric stash is dwindling.  I can't seem to keep paint, glue or any other crafting supplies!  And I cannot go to town without going to Dollar Tree!  It is probably a good thing we have moved to the country because I can't just run to Walmart and grab supplies on a whim, I have to plan and prioritize which crafts I want to make first!
Here are just a few of my creations that were inspired by Pinterest...

Thanksgiving 2012

We had Thanksgiving at our new place this year! Mom and dad brought the rv and dad even installed a plug so they were able to stay on the property! Mark, Amber and Ty also came over. Since Troye had to work Thanksgiving day we celebrated on Friday. We had tons of food and it was all awesome! We rode the Mule and had a campfire complete with s'mores! We also did some fun crafts!

Army men.... A day the boys will remember!

Today the boys and I went to Huntsville with my dad. After a trip to Walmart we stopped by Chicken Express. I still love that chicken! When we pulled up there were 4 charted buses of Army men. Cam was so excited to see a "real" army man! When we went in to the store it was packed and there was a huge line of army men. We decided to go ahead and eat there despite the wait. We really didn't have to wait long. As soon as I was done ordering an army man approached me and introduced himself. He asked if he could give the boys a patch. So he introduced himself to the boys and asked their names! They were polite and shook hands with him and then he gave each of them a patch from his unit. He said they were out of Ft. Hood and 3rd Seahawks. After that I took a picture and we said goodbye! This really made the boys day! There were so excited and impressed that he came over to us! AWESOME!

Working together

One thing for sure, there is never a lack of work to be done! We have so many ideas and projects we want to do, it can be hard to decide where to start! We want the barn done but honestly with time and money a factor it will take longer than we would like. We have rabbits on order and scheduled to be delivered in January and we need somewhere to keep them. We started working on a simple green house to give he rabbits a place to stay. We are also still tending to the garden.

A hunting we will go....

So deer season is here! Everyone is excited and ready to kill a deer but for some reason the deer have vanished! Smart on their part but not good for our freezer! Part of the problem is our neighbors on all sides! One decided to timber his land just two weeks before opening day and another decided to build a pier on their pond on opening weekend! Sure is hard to hunt when everyone around you is moving and making changes to the land! But we are still seeing evidence of deer movement, we just have to find the right time to take one! It will certainly be really exciting when we do kill one!

Living off the land....well sort of!

Today we picked our first vegetables from our land! We harvested French radishes! YUCK! Ha! I don't even like them but it was still exciting to pick them! I decided to try to pickle them and see if we would like them that way. It was my first time to pickle anything so that was neat too! Here is a picture of the jar, it will be a few day before we can try them!

We also gather lots of Yaupon Holly leaves so we can make tea! The limbs have been drying for several weeks and they were finally ready to gather. We then used a grinder and ground them up and ran them through our keurig machine. The result was a really good cup of tea, similar to green tea! So neat!

Trinity Pines Fall Festival

We went to the fall festival at the church we have been visiting. Unfortunately it was raining so some of the activities were cancelled and the rest were moved indoors. I am sure the rain hurt attendance but we had a blast! The boys played lots of game and ate snow cones and popcorn! The first game Cam went to was the ball toss where you win a gold fish! He didn't win so he got back in line! He did not leave this game until he won! He actual won 2 fish and Colt won one fish! They also both won a cake in the cake walk and a bottle of soda in the ring toss!! We are set!! It was a great time! Everyone at Trinity Pines has made us feel welcomed and part of the church!

George Washington and Ben Franklin

It is that time of year that I love! Fall is here and the weather is getting cooler! My boys also love this time of year because they know it is the time to plan costumes! We normally go to West Conroe Baptist's fall festival but this year we are charting new waters! We have been visiting a local church , Trinity Pines. They have a community fall festival but since Halloween is on a Wednesday it was a normal church night with costumes added. Now this made the boys super excited because that means they get to wear costumes two times!! We made the decision to let the boys choose costumes from the hundreds we already own and they decided on the founding fathers! I love it!! There is no telling what they will pick for the fall festival so check back for that!!
