Veteran's Memorial
We drive by a Veteran's Memorial every time we go to Hunstville. The boys always want to stop because there are army vehicles and helicopters sitting out front. We finally took the time one day to go. It was a very fun day. They have veterans who will give you a guided tour through the memorial. There are artifacts from all the different wars and time periods. Uniforms, papers, pictures, letters, models and so much more. It would take you days to read everything that is in the museum. We had a nice tour guide and the boys asked some great questions. While on the tour an older gentleman came up and asked the boys if they liked to play army. Of course they do! He took them to a artifact room and let them try on lots of uniforms! They were even able to hold real guns, knives and a bayonnet! They loved it! After we walked through then entire building they told the boys that they had unlocked the helicopter gate and they could go sit in it! Oh man! Talk about some excited boys! Camaron declared "Museums are the best place ever"!

Army men.... A day the boys will remember!
Today the boys and I went to Huntsville with my dad. After a trip to Walmart we stopped by Chicken Express. I still love that chicken! When we pulled up there were 4 charted buses of Army men. Cam was so excited to see a "real" army man! When we went in to the store it was packed and there was a huge line of army men. We decided to go ahead and eat there despite the wait. We really didn't have to wait long. As soon as I was done ordering an army man approached me and introduced himself. He asked if he could give the boys a patch. So he introduced himself to the boys and asked their names! They were polite and shook hands with him and then he gave each of them a patch from his unit. He said they were out of Ft. Hood and 3rd Seahawks. After that I took a picture and we said goodbye! This really made the boys day! There were so excited and impressed that he came over to us! AWESOME!
