Classical Conversations

We have joined a  homeschool group called Classical Conversations.  It is an amazing program that has classes for all ages!  The boys are super excited that they will be in class with friends.  We will meet 1 day a week in Montgomery.  That is a long drive but thankfully it is just once a week and I think it is going to be an amazing year.

Homeschool Weeks 2-3

PWe have completed 3 weeks of school!!  So far we are really loving it but still trying to get into a good routine.  We started co-op last week.  The boys were so excited to start.  They are both taking two classes.  Camaron has a couple of kids in his class from our new church.  Colt is meeting new kids and really likes his teachers.  I think it will be a great year!

100th Day of School!

Today we celebrated our 100th day of school! I was not as prepared as I would have liked but we had fun anyway! We actually started celebrating last night by having a bonfire and shooting fireworks! We made some 100 day crafts. The boys made hats with 100 items on them. We made a poster with 100 stickers and watched several movies about 100 days of school! Later one we made a cookie cake and the boys had to count out 100 sprinkles for the cake!
It was a fun day!

The 10 Plagues

We have been reading in Exodus for our Bible/History lessons.  We have read about the birth of Moses and the burning bush.  This week we read about the 10 plagues on Egypt.  We try to have fun with our lessons when possible and do interesting things to help reinforce the information.  For the plagues we acted them all out.  Colt was Moses and Camaron was Aaron and I was an Egyptian.  The boys really enjoyed seeing the plagues strike our house!  After our lesson we headed outside to play and they continued to pretend to be Moses and Aaron! Cam was certain he could turn the creek into blood!  I captured 7 of the 10 plagues on camera. It was a fun time.
