We have CHICKENS! We are using Grammy and Grumpy's old chicken coop so we went and picked up 4 new chickens! They are Minorca chickens and are almost at the laying egg age! We hope to get chickens one day but we really wanted to start getting egg so we got the older chickens for now. So excited to watch them grow and make eggs! Of course we are hoping that preditors don't get them!
We also have a new dog! We have talked about getting an outside dog but didn't really plan it. A friend of Troye's found this dog and couldn't keep her so he asked if we wanted her. He brought her out to meet the boys and they loved her! She is a very sweet Lab mix and around 2 years old. She follows us everywhere on the property and loves to ride in the mule! She likes to play with the toys that the boys throw and so far she is getting along pretty well with Bobber. Meet Remington, or as we call her Remi.
Follow our family as we move from a typical subdivision house to 20 acres of land!

Grammy and Grumpy time!
Last week the boys and I went to Grammy and Grumpy's for a few days. Grammy had signed Colt up for a sewing camp. He went to her quilt shop and learned how to sew some fun items! He made shorts, a neck cooler, a pillow, and a bag! They are turned out great! While Colt was sewing Grammy took Camaron shopping! He had a blast! We also went to the movies and saw Monsters University! It was cute. One day we went to the mall and the boys made animals at Build-a-bear. They also jumped on a bungee trampoline! They were not sure about it at first but ended up loving it! We had a great time!!

18th Anniversary!
Troye and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary this year! It is hard to believe it has been that long! The boys went to stay with their cousins for the weekend. Troye and I enjoyed a relaxing weekend of going out to eat and just not having to be anywhere! We also went and got new rings! We chose to get permanent tattoo rings!! We have tossed the idea around for years but finally decided to go for it! We picked out our design and went to the tattoo place. I was so nervous! But it really wasn't that bad, it didn't hurt near as bad as what I had imagined and it was over fast! They are still healing but I LOVE them!! We have had mixed reactions but honestly mostly positive. The most asked question is did it hurt! My answer is childbirth was much worse! LOL! The next most asked question is what if something happens, meaning divorce or death. Well divorce is not an option for us, we will trust God to keep us together they thick and thin! As far as death goes, it is true we don't know when our last day will be but we have been married for 18 years and together for 20. We have 2 kids and no matter what happens in life we will always be apart of each other. If either one of us were to die we will always have that reminder of our love! We are very happy with our new rings!

Waco Trip
We spent last weekend in Waco. We attended West High graduation to watch our nephew, Jake graduate. I can't believe he is so grown up!
We also were able to see some great friends, Mel and JP Eaker. It is always great to see them and catch up.
On Saturday, my uncle Eddie and aunt Noni and cousin Brittne drove down to Lorena. We have not seen them in a couple of years so it was a great visit.
On Sunday, Uncle Jesse and Aunt Vickie drove down. Again it was a great visit! Uncle Jesse brought some rabbit cages for Colt to start his rabbit business. So exciting! Grumpy is building a new chicken coop so we helped out a little with that, the boys enjoyed painting it!
It was a very busy weekend but a great one too!

Veteran's Memorial
We drive by a Veteran's Memorial every time we go to Hunstville. The boys always want to stop because there are army vehicles and helicopters sitting out front. We finally took the time one day to go. It was a very fun day. They have veterans who will give you a guided tour through the memorial. There are artifacts from all the different wars and time periods. Uniforms, papers, pictures, letters, models and so much more. It would take you days to read everything that is in the museum. We had a nice tour guide and the boys asked some great questions. While on the tour an older gentleman came up and asked the boys if they liked to play army. Of course they do! He took them to a artifact room and let them try on lots of uniforms! They were even able to hold real guns, knives and a bayonnet! They loved it! After we walked through then entire building they told the boys that they had unlocked the helicopter gate and they could go sit in it! Oh man! Talk about some excited boys! Camaron declared "Museums are the best place ever"!

MUD!! And fun!!
The boys love the mud! And with 6 inches of rain in two weeks there is lots of mud! I can't tell you how many changes of clothes we go thru each day! But it is all worth it to see them having so much fun playing in the creek, throwing mud pies, going mudding on the 4 wheeler and more!

Garden Update!
The garden is growing! It is so exciting to see the plants growing! We have had our share of problems though! I can name tons of new insects that are loving our plants! I may become an insect expert! We are doing our best to control them organically. Now that the plants are getting bigger it seems to be working. Also the greenhouse is doing good but it gets hot in there! Troye has plans to do a few things to help regulate the temperature but we just haven't had time to get it all done. Hopefully soon! We have also realized that our soil is not great! It is ok for some plants but it is very sandy and it lacks nitrogen so we are working on fixing that problem. Here is a list of what we have growing: carrots, peas, beans, lettuce, broccoli, tomatos, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, spinach, corn, pumpkin, watermelon, potatos, bell pepers, jalapenos, beets, and probably a few others that have slipped my mind! If everything produces we will have lots of veggies! So far we have had fresh peas, spinach, lettuce and basil from the garden! It is so cool to go pick the fresh lettuce for a salad! So excited to have more!
